CIVIL WAR Era Broken W. Walscheid 1840 Cavalry Blade with a Brass Bayonet Grip
CIVIL WAR Era Broken W. Walscheid 1840 Cavalry Blade with a Brass Bayonet Grip. Up for sale is a Broken blade of an 1840 Cavalry model by W. Walscheid of Solingen Prussia (Germany today) that has been re -purposed into a Fighting Knife (do not use as a bayonet as the blade sweeps up and the bullet would hit the blade)! This blade is 20-3/8"s L x 1-3/16"s W and is 9/16s thick at the ricasso and I have installed and aged a reproduction bayonet grip and added the XIII and scratches to it as well as the notches in the lower obverse cross guard for a re-enactor or as a conversation piece as to what weapons were actually made of during the WBTS. Especially by us Southerner's as we were slightly less well equipped that the Yanks were. I do sword restorations as well as other things so if you have any questions feel free to ask. Thanks for looking and best regards. The item "CIVIL WAR Era Broken W. Walscheid 1840 Cavalry Blade with a Brass Bayonet Grip" is in sale since Wednesday, April 1, 2020.
