A ding to the corner of the lid above the hinge. A few scratches including a scuffed area below the bird on the bottom left corner. Some surface wear from use and polish and some areas of stubborn tarnish and discoloration from age, the designs are still nice and crisp with beautiful detail. Has been hand polished with Tiffany Co silver polish but retains some patina in the background to really make the etched design stand out.Hinge is still tight with tension to open and close snugly. But due to age - Please see photos closely as this is not a mint condition item. Measures about 2 1/2" by about 1 1/8". Marked with the lion standing on two legs facing right, anchor and G, and Sterling on the rim, and 51 0 on the opposite rim. I dearly love, collect, use and sell antique sterling silver flatware and household items so please check out my other listings including Tiffany & Co.
