Offered for sale an original Civil War era Base Ball photo taken in Snider Springs Texas. John Snider established Snider Springs in 1853. It later became known as Phalba, Texas. Photo was most likely taken a number of years after the war in the 1880's. The photo captures the Ball Team of the Carter Family of Phalba, Texas, in Van Zandt County.

There are seven (7) members of the Carter family in the photo. Top row pictured 3rd Al Carter, pictured 5th Jess & 8th Bill Carter. In the front row pictured 2nd is Sam Carter, 3rd is Frank and 4th is Henry Carter. With the little boy in the back ground left of the picture is the Carter's Uncle Teed. Sam Carter is the son of Dian (Done) Carter and Frank Carter is the son of Jess Carter.

Henry, Al and Jess are sons of John Carter. Also the 1st personal in the front row is Tom Howard. Photo is 6 3/4 x 4 3/4, over all approximately 13 1/4 x 11 1/4.
