The leather covers are newer made but of aged leather to help match the condition of the original holsters. One holster had a crack about 2 long that was repaired and is not noticeable when the cover is closed. The holster body is 12 1/2" long with the top opening being about 5" wide and 1 3/4 deep. I believe they were made to hold 2 martial single shot horse pistols but later they might have held 2 Colt dragoons. Decent earlier 1800's military leather items are hard to find. This set will make a great display with your 1800's pistols and if you have a period saddle, it will really add a special touch.
