This boldly modeled and finely detailed pair of middle 1800s Parian ware wall brackets feature sculptural, naturalistic American Eagles with stepped architectural plinth tops with each eagle clutching an olive branch which mostly covers the stars and stripes shield so often seen in Civil War imagery. Each measures 7 tall x 6 ¾ wide x 6 ¼ deep and has some dirt and discoloration. Additionally, each has small edge chips on the top and discolored cracks on the tops. These cracks appear to be stable and there is no apparent loss to the eagle figures. Most likely British made for the American market, they are finely finished in biscuit finish with many seeds of tan or gray inclusions.
